Police were called to Nottingham city centre this evening as a group of young people allegedly brawled near Winter Wonderland.
Officers were called to a street near Old Market Square at around 6pm. Eyewitnesses said they saw groups of teenagers – wearing lanyards that resembled those handed to school or college students – confront each other.
Youths allegedly spat at the police and recorded the chaos that unfolded in the rainy city street, according to witnesses. People near the tram stop were also heard screaming. It is unclear whether anyone was injured during the incident. When Nottinghamshire Live arrived at the scene, there was no police cordon in the surrounding area.

Two youths were arrested in Nottingham city centre after an Old Market Square incident. A 15-year-old faces suspicion of intent to supply a Class A drug, and a 16-year-old was detained for obstructing police. Trams were briefly disrupted, no weapons were involved, and the crowd dispersed quickly.
