“Greg calls Lynette and

One wrong move could destroy everything Greg had built—and he knew it.
As he paced the length of his office, the walls felt like they were closing in. The case against Bethany had grown sharper, uglier, and far more dangerous than he’d ever anticipated. Every instinct told him to act fast—but experience warned him that speed could be his undoing. 📞

He grabbed his phone and called his attorney.

“Hey… I need your advice,” Greg said, dragging a hand through his hair. “I’m thinking about bringing Sharra and Lynette in to testify against Bethany. Is that smart?”

The reply came cool and measured. “Greg, I get why you want this—but tread carefully. If Bethany catches wind of it, things could escalate fast. You need everything documented, your witnesses prepared, and your emotions in check. Strategy over impulse. 💼⚖️”

Greg exhaled slowly. “Understood.”

The Weight of a Dangerous Decision

After the call ended, determination mixed with anxiety. Greg knew this couldn’t be handled through lawyers alone. He had to speak to Sharra and Lynette himself—face to face.

When they arrived, he didn’t waste time.

“Thank you for coming,” he said, motioning for them to sit. “I’m in a difficult position. Bethany’s actions have caused serious damage, and I believe your testimony could help the truth come out.”

Sharra listened quietly. Lynette didn’t.

A Line Drawn in the Sand

“Greg,” Lynette said firmly, “keep us out of your family drama. 🛑 If Bethany finds out you’re pulling us into this, it won’t stop with the case. She’ll escalate. More conflict. More chaos. We don’t want any part of that.”

The words hit harder than Greg expected.

“I understand,” he said quietly. “But I wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t important.”

Warnings Wrapped in Concern

Sharra leaned forward, her voice softer but no less serious. “Your choices don’t exist in isolation. If Bethany even suspects we’re helping, things could spiral fast. You need to think beyond winning—think about fallout.”

Greg rubbed his face, frustration creeping in. “I want justice. But I don’t want to hurt anyone else in the process.”

“That’s the balance,” Lynette replied. “We’re not saying no—but we need distance from the family side of this. Promise us that.”

Greg nodded. “I promise.”

A Plan That Must Not Fail

As they left, their warnings echoed in his mind. Strategy. Timing. Control.

Sitting alone, Greg opened his notebook and began organizing documents, mapping conversations, weighing risks. No more reckless moves. No emotional decisions.

Still… one question lingered.

Bethany had a way of sensing betrayal before it happened.

And as Greg stared at his phone—hovering over a name he hadn’t called yet—he couldn’t shake the feeling that she already knew something was coming… ⚖️📝
