A newly surfaced video has reignited national outrage over the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good by an ICE agent in Minneapolis, raising serious questions about the official account of her death.
The footage appears to show Good attempting to flee rather than attack officers. In the video, one officer tries to enter her SUV, prompting Good to reverse, turn her wheels away, and drive off. A second officer stands in front of the vehicle but is clipped only lightly as she moves past him. He then fires one shot through the windshield and two more through the side window as she drives away. Moments later, Good’s SUV crashes into a parked car about 100 feet away.
Federal officials quickly defended the agent, with the Department of Homeland Security claiming Good had “weaponized” her vehicle in an act of domestic terrorism. Critics say the video directly contradicts that claim.
Public backlash has been fierce. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called the shooting a “public murder,” while Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey rejected claims of self-defense.
