It’s no secret that eyebrows are the ultimate beauty playground. Just scroll through social media, and you’ll find a wild variety of brow trends, from unicorn horns to Nike swooshes and even fishtail designs.
Just when it seemed beauty trends couldn’t get any stranger, halo brows entered the spotlight. Like many unconventional looks, the trend was born on social media, where platforms such as Instagram and TikTok regularly push creativity beyond traditional beauty rules.
Halo brows feature a curved line drawn across the forehead, connecting both eyebrows into a single loop. The look was created by 16-year-old British-born influencer Hannah Lyne, whose original doodle-inspired design quickly went viral. In her Instagram post, Lyne explained that the idea came from a casual conversation about fishtail brows, adding that she wanted to try something completely new.
Speaking to PopSugar and Yahoo Style, Lyne clarified that the look wasn’t meant as a joke. Instead, she encouraged people to embrace being playful, weird, and creative with makeup.
Reactions were sharply divided. Some praised her originality and talent, while others labeled the trend “ridiculous” or unsettling. Despite the backlash, Cosmopolitan described halo brows as “strangely beautiful.”
Love it or hate it, halo brows prove that social media continues to redefine beauty—one bold experiment at a time.
