Some stories are almost impossible to absorb, and the life of Lori Coble is one of them. In May 2007, Lori and her husband, Chris, were living a happy, ordinary life with their three young children when a stopped minivan on a Southern California freeway was struck by a speeding big rig. The crash was catastrophic. Within hours, all three children — Kyle, 5, Emma, 4, and Katie, 2 — were gone, leaving Lori and Chris facing an unimaginable loss.
In their darkest moment, the couple made a promise to survive together. Over time, therapy, faith, and mutual support helped them endure. Eventually, they chose to become parents again through IVF, welcoming triplets — two girls and a boy — exactly one year after losing their children.
Years later, just as life felt stable again, Lori was diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma in 2025. Despite surgeries and treatment, she chose comfort and home hospice care. Surrounded by family and community support, Lori’s story stands not only as one of tragedy, but of resilience, love, and extraordinary human endurance.
