A suspected bomb has been found near a city centre today, forcing police to lock down the area and put a 100-metre cordon in place.
The incident is taking place in the Millbay area of Plymouth, with the suspected ordnance found at a building site on Martin Street.
School reportedly evacuated

Police issue statement
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “We were called at 11.40am on Wednesday 14 January following a report of a suspected ordnance being found at a building site in Martin Street, Plymouth. A 100 metre cordon and associated road closures are currently in place. People are asked to avoid the area while attempts are made to identify the ordnance and make it safe. The incident is ongoing.”
