There are few people who have watched the disturbing footage of Renee Nicole Good’s fatal shooting without forming a strong opinion. The 37-year-old mother was shot and killed in Minneapolis during an encounter with ICE agents, sparking intense national debate and sharply divided reactions.

Federal authorities claim Good tried to obstruct agents with her vehicle, while widely shared video appears to show her attempting to drive away as an officer fired. The officer, identified as Jonathan Ross, was positioned in front of her car when he discharged three shots, mortally wounding Good. Footage capturing Ross shouting a profanity afterward has further fueled outrage.
The Department of Homeland Security labeled Good a “domestic terrorist,” a description echoed by President Donald Trump and senior officials, who argue Ross acted in self-defense. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and civil rights advocates strongly dispute that claim, saying the video raises serious questions about the use of deadly force.
Even Good’s family is divided. Her former father-in-law said he does not blame ICE but criticized the officer’s language. As investigations continue, the case remains a flashpoint over policing, political rhetoric, and accountability.
