April Webster and Nathan Fishbourne became national news in 2010 as the youngest parents in the United Kingdom. April was just 13 when she became pregnant, and Nathan was 14 when their son, Jamie, was born, a situation that drew intense media attention and public debate.
The pair met as classmates at St. Cenydd School in Caerphilly, South Wales. April learned she was pregnant one day before her 14th birthday, shocking both families. Despite the circumstances, their parents ultimately offered support. Jamie was born via cesarean section in November 2010 and required surgery for a malformed oesophagus. After 11 days in hospital, he was well enough to go home with April, who lived with her family.
Although Nathan hoped to stay involved, the young couple separated by 2014 and lost contact. April chose not to complete her GCSEs, focusing instead on raising Jamie with family support.
Now 28, April—known as April Lianna—is a mother of three and living a stable, happy life. Nathan has also moved on, engaged and raising his own family. Their story highlights both the challenges of teen parenthood and the resilience that can emerge with support.
