Jessica Camilleri, the woman jailed for killing her mother following an argument over a takeaway order, has reportedly continued troubling behaviour while behind bars. More than six years after the 2019 killing of Rita Camilleri in western Sydney, prison sources claim Jessica has shown little remorse and has instead intimidated both inmates and staff.
According to reports, Camilleri has allegedly boasted about her crime to other prisoners at Silverwater Maximum Security Correctional Complex, making disturbing threats if she feels provoked. Officers have also described ongoing aggression, with incidents in May 2025 reportedly leaving staff traumatised after being assaulted on camera.
Camilleri, now 31, was originally sentenced in 2020 to more than 21 years in prison after being convicted of manslaughter, a charge accepted due to claims of serious mental impairment. Her sentence was later reduced on appeal to 16 years and six months, making her eligible for parole in 2031.
However, following recent assaults on officers and another inmate, Camilleri is due back in court in February, where she could face additional time in custody.
