Assuming you saw a laptop of 97K. You didn’t have the cash, so you borrowed 50K from your mum and 50K from your dad = 100K. You bought the laptop which left you with 3K change. You gave your dad 1K and your mum 1K and kept the other 1K to yourself. Now you owe your mum 49K and your dad 49K. Now 49K + 49K = 98K and your 1K kept = 99K.Where is the missing 1K? Before buying the laptop I had 100k that I borrowed from them.
After purchase, I had the laptop and 3k, which is 97k + 3k = 100k.
After returning 1k to dad and 1k to mum, I have: 97k laptop, plus the 1k left.
Finally my 97k laptop + the 1k I have + the 2k I returned to my parents = 100k.
So there is nothing missing.
