Sydney Sweeney once details the reaction her dad and granddad had to seeing one of her more racy scenes – and it’s exactly as you might imagine.
Of course, Sweeney’s family are supportive of her career and likely proud of her, but – come on – would you want to watch your daughter do some of that stuff?
Sydney Sweeney has taken the world by storm
Sweeney is a bonafide A-lister these days, and one of the biggest and most bankable stars in the world.
She’s been in films like Anyone But You, The Housemaid, and Madame Web, as well as top TV shows like Euphoria and The White Lotus.
On top of that, she’s become something of a fashion and style icon – although not without causing a bit of strange controversy along the way, especially the jeans thing.
One thing is for sure, she’s not averse to sharing a romantic scene and is pretty comfortable in her own skin. That’s less than we can say for some male members of her family when made to watch her in these roles, though.

Some scenes were too much for Sydney’s dad
The 27-year-old has credited her parents with helping her and allowing her to succeed in showbiz, although there were no prior connections in place for this; they simply gave their daughter the support she needed – as well as some vital pieces of advice she is now grateful for.
However, they don’t really get the industry, as they are not part of it, and as such, some things can be a bit lost on them.
In a 2022 interview with GQ, Sweeney explained: “When I go home, my family doesn’t understand me or the world I’m in anymore.
“But then in this industry, my home and the place that grounds me is so vastly different to how people live there.
“I’m in this in-between place where I feel like neither side understands me.”
When she landed her big role in Euphoria, Sweeney said that she brought her mom along for the experience to see what Hollywood was like behind the curtain.
However, she didn’t give her dad the heads up about some of the content of the show.
Speaking to Sunday Today in 2023, Sweeney said: “My mom visited me on set quite a few times, so she knew the story.”
“My dad didn’t,
“I didn’t prepare my dad at all…I mean, how do you bring it up in conversation?
“And when I talk to my dad, it’s usually not about work. It’s just, ‘Hey dad’.”

That lack of professional chat led to an awkward moment, as the star outlined: “So, he decided he was going to watch it without telling me, with his parents.
