76-year-old grandmother ripped apart in comments after modeling sleeveless dress on social media
A 76-year-old style influencer sparked mixed reactions after modeling a sleeveless brown knit midi dress on social media. Candace Cima, grandmother to 11 and a pro-aging advocate, paired the dress with a sweater but faced harsh criticism. While many praised her elegance, others were less kind, posting ageist remarks.
One comment read, “Form fitting below the waist is not your friend. Celebrate everything else about your body!” Another added, “Too old to be showing all that skin.” Yet Cima remains unshaken, emphasizing, “It’s perfectly appropriate to have wrinkled skin at 76, and I’m not ashamed of it.”
Cima launched her fashion blog in 2019 to break stereotypes, addressing the lack of representation for older women. “Women have been conditioned to cover up because that’s what their mothers did,” she explained. “We need to rethink age and fashion in a modern world.”
Despite the negativity, Cima’s message remains inspiring: “Aging is great. You’ve learned so much and are the wisest you’ll ever be. Embrace it and be proud.”
