Keanu Reeves has built a reputation as one of Hollywood’s kindest celebrities, often performing acts of generosity without seeking recognition. Sandra Bullock, who worked with Reeves on the 1994 film Speed, recently shared a touching memory of their early interactions.
Bullock recounted how, after they discussed champagne and truffles in conversation, Reeves surprised her about a year later with a box of flowers, champagne, and truffles. He had remembered their chat and thought she’d like to experience them. At the time, Bullock was with a friend getting her nails done, and they all shared the champagne.
Bullock also revealed that, early in their friendship, she often filled the silence when they were together, thinking that Keanu’s quietness meant he was offended. However, he would continue to show thoughtfulness, leaving notes and gifts, showing just how much he valued their conversations.
She noted that Keanu remains friends with every woman he’s ever dated, and while they could have been a couple, they grew into lifelong friends instead.
