Amber Wright, a mom active on Instagram, is no stranger to criticism. However, one video sparked an unusual backlash. After her 16-year-old son Brixton’s football game, she shared a video of an emotional hug between them. The moment, featuring Amber wrapping her body around her son as he held her, was meant to capture their close bond.
The response was polarizing. While many saw it as a heartwarming display, others questioned the appropriateness of the hug, with some making crude and offensive comments. Amber defended herself, posting a follow-up video saying, “It was literally a hug. If you see something wrong with it, that’s on you.”
Brixton also spoke out, writing, “She’s my mom, my hero. The vid of us hugging was a HUG. Go hug your own kids.” The hug held deeper meaning as Brixton wore a jersey honoring his late father.
Despite threats of involving child protective services, Amber stood firm, keeping the video online. She added, “I’m a proud mom hugging my kid. I did nothing wrong.”
