Comedy legend Carol Burnett is celebrating a milestone: her 90th birthday! To honor her, NBC will air Carol Burnett: 90 Years of Laughter and Love, a special tribute to the beloved star.
Among the many guests paying tribute is Burnett’s close friend Julie Andrews, who recalled their first meeting years ago: “When we met, no one else got a word in edgewise,” she laughed. Music icon Cher also spoke about their friendship, sharing fond memories of playing practical jokes together.
The star-studded celebration includes appearances from Lily Tomlin, Steve Carell, Oprah, Michelle Obama, Steve Martin, and many others. Broadway stars like Bernadette Peters, Billy Porter, and Kristin Chenoweth will perform musical numbers in Burnett’s honor.
Burnett is best known for The Carol Burnett Show, a groundbreaking variety series that ran for 11 seasons. She has received numerous accolades, including the Mark Twain Prize and the Golden Globe’s Carol Burnett Award. Despite turning 90, Burnett feels as youthful as ever, expressing gratitude for her health and career.
Happy 90th, Carol!
