Angelina Jolie has said something shocking about working with Denzel Washington on the movie “The Bone Collector.” In a previous interview, Jolie said that the ones where she and Washington were alone together were the most memorable and exciting for her.
Phillip Noyce directed the thriller from 1999. It’s about a detective named Lincoln Rhyme (Washington), who is quadriplegic, and a young police officer named Amelia Donaghy (Jolie), who work together to solve a string of horrible killings. Due to Lincoln’s paralysis, the movie’s love scenes were meant to focus on closeness in the mind rather than in the body.
The idea of Washington’s character falling in love with her mind was a “huge turn-on” for Jolie. She said that the scene where she uses her senses to get Lincoln to like her was the “best sex” she had ever had. For emphasis on the emotional link between the two characters, the filmmakers chose this unique way of showing closeness.
There were, however, some problems that Jolie had while shooting The Bone Collector. Her words: The shoot was “really lonely” for her, and she often questioned her ability to direct the movie. Also, Jolie’s intense character, Amelia, made her feel bad, and she said that the movie “nearly drove me insane” at times.
Even though reviewers had mixed feelings about The Bone Collector, it did well at the box office, and Jolie got some praise for her performance. People are still interested in the movie’s exploration of themes like closeness, loneliness, and the human link.
